Selling my Glimakra Pysslingen table loom. This is a beefy little loom that can be used under pretty high tensions. Pictures under description. Buyer can pick up from Lexington, KY, or willing to ship at buyer’s expense. Price: $375
Description:
4-harness, 4-lever. Made of Swedish pine, the wood has aged gracefully and there are few marks or dings. Beams, ratchets and pawl are sturdy wood; 20” weaving width. Non-smoking environment.
Comes with removable, canted sturdy legs. Includes 40-10-50 reed (bit of rust but usable); missing one metal pin in reed assembly, but replacement screw works. Comes with Glimakra lease sticks and warping peg set from another company, and string heddles.
The shafts are held under tension by rubber bands, which sounds odd until you see it’s effective and gives a nice shed. Regular rubber bands do have a limited life, so you can replace with extension springs. See Weavolution post re here: http://weavolution.com/forum/weaving/glim-kra-pssyllingen....
Bought from a fellow Raveler in 2014 as my first loom. When bought, seller described the loom accurately, thus: “The Pysslingen table loom was made by Glimakra prior to 1979 and replaced with the Victoria, so this loom is at least 35 years old. To my knowledge, the only parts of the loom that have been replaced are the string heddles, the white rubber bumpers covering the nuts holding the reed in place…”.
It’s a neat, friendly loom and a good first loom. Am selling to finance the loom am using currently for tapestry, and as a drop in the bucket to save towards a small floor loom.
Note. Yes, know now I didn’t need the lease sticks that close to the back of the heddles.
