More cleaning out of the second and third floors of the store where I work! I am listing these looms priced as if you might want them for parts or repair. In truth I am a little bit smitten with the Jana! Both looms are functional but each has issues which I will try to describe.
Jana: 20” weaving width (love that!), nice big levers, crank handle (assuming original), 10 dent stainless steel reed (woot! Woot!), texsolv heddles, nicely blackened (oiled maybe to prevent rust?) Heddle bars and harnesses, lovely wooden beater that lifts off for threading, castle put on backwards (why? So that levers would be on the right?), 4 shaft, screws do not all have the square top so not all original, someone’s initials marked in pen in 2 places, lots of dings (love) in the wood, needs new foam under the harnesses. Jana is a girl with character!
Dorothy: 15 3/4” weaving width, 4 shafts, this girl needs a bath in some Evaporust and her life would be greatly improved! I’m not sure the heddles can be saved and I really do not know about the reed (which I think is 12 dent), but might make the effort there. The silver metal parts need a rubb down with some steel wool). I do not think this loom saw nearly as much use as the Jana as the wood is less much dinged( pretty nice!) and the screws all have the square heads (original). I was thinking perhaps someone who wanted to add a harness frame to their already owned Dorothy might be able to use this loom, or someone who doesn’t mind putting in a little elbow grease might think this was just the ticket!
Jana-$85 Dorothy-$50. These looms are in Erie PA and would prefer cash on pick up. May consider shipping. Maybe.
