Selling my 8 shaft 10 treadle 26” weaving width Baby Wolf, aka Mozart. This is a 1988 jack loom (ID 121388-BW8-9). I believe I am the third owner of this loom.
Dimensions: about 36-37” square floor space, including the stroller; 35” high (42.5” with castle); 42”high when folded (49.5” with castle) plus a bit extra for the wheels; 29.5” high breast beam
Comes with:
- 10 dent reed
- high castle tray
- wolf trap
- stroller (one wheel has been replaced)
- a metal & blue umbrella swift
- a Mattson Mora quill winder
- two Schacht ski shuttles
- about 580-590 flat steel heddles
- other odds and ends (some rug shuttles, stick shuttles, sticks used as lease sticks, etc.)
Fine print:
- this is the older model – without the removable back beam
- one wheel on the stroller has been replaced and tends to fall out when the loom is lifted off the ground
- the wood portion of the crank handle is missing; I thought of replacing it but have been fine using the metal portion of the crank handle instead
- the first owner’s name is written on the wood under the castle tray (seen when the castle is removed)
In my opinion, for its age, this loom is in beautiful shape. The loom doesn’t come with a bench but given the 29.5” breast beam, I just used an office chair.
Reason for Selling: A large Scandinavian loom just took over my weaving room and three of my other looms must find new homes. And, yes, my kind and patient husband wants our living room back.
