Found these interesting old bookplates (pages taken from various books), several dated 1866. There are 5 depicting various breeds of sheep - Border Leicester, two “infantado” from Vermont, Oxford Down, and Cotswold.
There are 4 plates depicting various wool and weaving related activities - One in color showing the stages of silk production; one from 1887 with a woman at a “primitive loom- from book “The Acadian Land”; one showing “Home Life in Olden Times” with spinning, cooking, tea drinking (!), and dipping candles; and one dated 1952 showing flax production.
All measure about 9” x 6” and some will need a rough edge trimmed before framing; and they all show age appropriate discoloration. One is mildly foxed (reddish-brown areas on page).
These will look lovely framed, and will make a unique addition to the decor of your home, craft room, or store. They typically sell for $2-5 each.
I got these at an antiques store years ago and just have nowhere to put them, so am hoping to find them a good home where they can be enjoyed.
$10 plus USPS shipping to CONUS from zip 19977. Shipping should be about $3.50.
