8 shaft Mountain Loom, 18” weaving width, in great condition for sale for $600 OBO, in the San Antonio, TX area. These looms are no longer made, although the owner will still answer questions and the company sells some replacement parts. These looms are known for being sturdily built and holding good tension. The swinging beater allows you to beat evenly for a longer distance before advancing the warp.
This model has:
- Additional levers for tabby.
- Standard warp beam
- “Pique” (double) back beam. To change it, simply unscrew 4 thumb screws and change out the single beam section for the double beam section. See photos.
- Lever tie-ups have been replaced with texsolv purchased in the last year from Mountain Loom Co. I have the replacement ties for the tabby levers with instructions but they are not on the loom
- Original(?) 8 dent reed - not stainless
- Woodworker-made conversion piece that will fit a Schacht Pup reed.
- Newer 12 dent stainless steel reed that fits the loom using the conversion piece.
- Hundreds and hundreds of additional heddles.
I will consider shipping at the buyer’s expense but fair warning: this is a sturdily built loom and its weight reflects that!
