I am selling my 8H 36 inch Mighty Wolf. It 1000plus heddles, wheels for rolling, and it folds for easier moving and storing.
Based on what I see offered for sale, this loom is probably worth more, but it is old and not in perfect condition, and I don’t want to ship it or move it, so if you can come pick it up in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, NY, the price is $800. It has a few quirks:
The tension can be a bit wonky, but that could be because of my less-than-perfect warping technique.
One wheel tends to fall off when it is lifted (not a problem when weaving; only when moving).
The cable that winds around the back beam brake release (not sure what it’s called) sometimes gets wound around itself and has to be put in line with a pliers or other tool to keep the brake release working smoothly. Easy to do once you know how to do it, but you have to get up from the weaving bench to do it. Doesn’t happen all the time.
The reed in it now is a 12-dent 20 inch reed, narrower than the weaving width (36”).
I have a brand-new stainless steel reed that I haven’t taken out of the box yet, which I would include, if you want it, for $80, which is what it cost. Otherwise, the narrower reed is included in the $800.
There is bench that is not a perfect match, but you are welcome to take the bench if you want it.
Right now is in folded position, wrapped in plastic movers’ wrap because I just moved. Makes it much easier to move, but of course I can open it out for you if you come to look at it.
Thanks.
