I’ve struggled with this decision, but I guess in the end I need my dining room back, and perhaps I don’t need 6 floor looms.
Flavia the Ideal came to live with me just a few short months ago. She is a spry little old lady born in the ’70s. She underwent a deal of cosmetic surgery to fill her original 4 shafts out to 8 shafts with corresponding lamms and jacks, and 8 treadles.
She is a horizontal countermarch. The Ideals are no longer being built. The 39” size makes her a great fit for a small home or apartment. I have a Glimakra Standard (my second) that I am keeping and can assure you that these looms are well built, beautiful, quiet and extremely functional. There is an abundance of support available on the Glimakra forum here on Ravelry.
Included is the loom, the bench, brand new Texsolv heddles, the Vavstuga tie-up system, warp sticks, lease sticks, tieup cords and one reed of my choice in good condition, either 10 or 12 dent.
Not included are the sheepskin, the bench basket and the puppy (just in case he snuck into the picture!)
Asking $2395, local pickup in Seattle preferred. This loom breaks down very easily except for the end gables. You can easily transport it in an Suv by putting the gables on the roof or in some cases it has been reported that the gables will fit inside the SUV (such as a Forester or Tahoe).
