For sale is this easy to use 4 harness direct tie-up loom beautifully handcrafted by C.H. McCoplgan of Cuyahoga Falls Ohio! I hope the pictures show it all!

This loom has some charming features such as the handle on the beater and the nicely bent cloth beam crank handle. The treadles are so large and smooth! The wood is so pretty- I think it is cherry. In a post about my other loom by this maker Joanne formerly of Glimakra USA said that the great way in which the shafts lift is the same system that the Dorset looms use. Mr McColgan also understood the loom mechanics and I love the way the shafts are stepped down from front to back- I included that picture. The loom has a terrific and large shed and the lower threads sit perfectly on the shuttle race. Breast beam height is 29 1/8” making a regular kitchen chair a perfect fit for me.

The loom has some unique features as well. There is no back beam crank- you stand behind the loom and roll the beam with your hands making it easier to have a warping pal around! Or a trapeze I guess! This has the brake release on the left side and it is a hand brake-pull the cord with your left hand and wind the cloth beam crank with your right hand.

I replaced 2 springs which had sprung. I replaced the brake cord with some black para-cord that we had around rather than clothesline. I don’t think they make clothes line like they used too! Or maybe this was some other type of cord. I did not clean the heddle bars or the reed. Both could use a treatment! I did not re-tie the tie on bars and they could use it. And when I was buying the springs I forgot to buy the new carriage boys for the beater top piece but will get those tomorrow.

This loom has a weaving width of 30” and is about 40” from outside bolt to outside bolt. Front to back it measures 36” when open and about 19 1/2” when folded.

And now for the Beauty shots!

Hoping someone here will love this sweet loom and help me continue in my effort to become a less is more kinda girl! I may be starting to get in the groove!

Asking $350 and hoping you would come to Erie PA to pick up! I may be able to arrange a meet up in the Pittsburgh, Cleveland or Buffalo areas.
