This Glimakra Ideal is an 8-shaft, 8-treadle countermarche with a weaving width 35”. It’s 1970s era. It has all texsolv cords, 550+ texsolv heddles. It comes with a 8-dent reed, new rubber feet, new shaft holders, tie on bars, and new lease sticks. I might also have some threading hooks to toss in.
I purchased it as a 4-shaft, six treadle. When I began upgrading it to 8-shafts and 8-treadles the lovely folks at Glimakra USA (Joanne :-) ) suggested that I replace all the lamms, top and bottom with the newer longer versions as they function better. It was also suggested that I replace all the shafts with wider ones so it was possible to weave the full width of the loom. New hinge pins were required, etc. etc. With all the upgrades I have $2,300 into this loom and that’s what I’m asking.
It’s a lovely loom. Good sheds. I’ve done everything from wool rugs to table linens. Reason for selling is downsizing to only one loom. As soon as she’s gone, I’m sure I’ll miss her. :-) We’re located in northern Idaho, 30 minutes east of Moscow, ID / Pullman, WA. We’re about 2 hours south of Spokane. Might possibly be able to deliver to Portland, OR when traveling in November.
