I ordered the kit of the month kits last year and have never had the time to do them. So I am de-stashing because they are taking up room in my small craft area! I just opened the package enough to pull out the packing slip to see what was in this one.

FS: Fireside Traditional Tapestry Loom - 60” in cherry

Incredibly beautiful Fireside traditional tapestry loom in solid cherry. Built in 1987, the cherry wood is gradually acquiring the rich, warm patina of maturity (kinda like the rest of us, only better). An outstanding piece of craftsmanship, this loom would be the centerpiece in any room in which it resides, even when it is “undressed.” It is hard to put into words the beauty and craftsmanship in this loom. Even the pictures fall short. This is truly an heirloom piece.

Weaving width is 60”. Footprint is approximately 5’ deep by 7’ wide by 6 ½’ tall. Eight-dent reed. Tex-solv heddles. Tensioning system is ratchet and pawl on upper beam, worm gear on lower beam. Chain tie-ups. The treadles have rollers on the end, so they need to be on a firm surface – carpet interferes with their operation.

Also includes a 60” cherry commuter bench.

Being 28 years old, it has acquired a few minor bumps and bruises, but haven’t we all by that age. The canvas has some staining by the grommets. However, replacement canvas is available from Fireside Fiberarts if desired. They are extremely helpful people and can answer any questions you might have.

Would prefer to not ship this loom because of potential for damage and the cost. We live 2 hours SE of St Louis. If you are in the region, we can bring it to you and help you set it up or meet you halfway for the transfer. You’re also welcome to come to the farm to pick it up, meet Kaibab and our wonderful alpacas.

UPDATE: I’ve dropped the price on the loom from $3500 to $3000. On a sadder note, Kaibab left this world last week and is with our other four-legged friends who are waiting for me at the Rainbow Bridge.

I’m selling the pictured Leclerc 4-harness unit.I replaced the wire heddles with about 200 flat heddles. It was bought at an auction and the ‘frame’ that came with it is for a 15” width and this unit is 15 3/4. Asking $75.00 plus shipping.

I’ve got two of these warps for sale. Each warp is 204 threads, 7.5 yards, 8/2 tencel. $95 includes shipping in the US. Please pm me if you’re interested and let me know if you want “A” or “C”. I will update the post as they sell.

Also, I wind my warps with a cross at both ends. The primary cross end will have a tag on it and the threads will pick off one at a time. The opposite end will have the cross secured and the threads will pick off at 6 per cross.

(1) Two Finnish Poppana shuttles. One shuttle is a commercial shuttle (Toika?), 16” x 1 ½” x 1”. The other was handmade in 1983, 15.5” x 1 ¼” x 1 ½”. Both shuttles are in very good condition. They are made for poppana (bias cut rag) fabric rolls. The roll is loaded onto the shuttle’s disk, then the poppana roll turns to feed the rag strips out as you weave (the shuttle’s disk doesn’t turn). $46 for two shuttles, plus shipping.

(2) Leclerc metal bobbin winder. This is an older winder, in nice condition. The handle is wood and the rest of the winder is heavy metal. It’s sturdy and solidly built. $68.
