MISC. AVL Loom PARTS

I’m sort of giggling on this one! If you are an AVL Loom owner and ever had to purchase a part from AVL, then you know how expensive they are! Well I’m going to sell these very inexpensively!

So over the years I’ve owned several AVL looms. (PDL and FDL) At this point in my life I have no intension of ever getting another one - so I might as well eliminate a box on the shelf. In these 2 photos - exist about 9 pounds of AVL parts. I’m not going to attempt to identify them all but if you are an AVL owner you will recognize them. Please note in the 2nd photo the wooden crank disk thing has a part chipped off but the broken piece is there and can be re-glued.

I am selling my Ashford Inklette for $60 which includes shipping. comes with booklet and shuttle and my warp!
Never used. I still have the first warp on it. :( I am not an inkle girl!

it is very small, 14.5” long and weighs a bit over 1 lb. unfinished
longest warp length - 72” at 2” wide

PayPal only, from a non-smoking home, cats and dogs who were not allowed to play with it

FS: MASSIVE Cottolin stash!

I have a whole bunch of Louet Cottolin (about 90 cones). This is left over from when I had a shop (the weaving clientele never really developed, alas). I weave, but prefer using heavier yarns, so it’s time to move this out.

100 gram cones. 640 yards. 60% cotton, 40% linen. Made in the Netherlands.

This is an eight shaft ten treadle loom that was originally four shafts six treadles. It has an overhead beater. Its footprint (measuring the longest distance for each) is 60 inches high, 48 inches wide and 48 inches deep with a weaving width of 39 inches.

It came to me with a regular warp beam. At the time I preferred sectional weaving and installed a sectional beam. I’ve since stopped warping sectionally but simply removed the sectional loops. The buyer can install the regular beam, or perhaps use both beams.

The heddles are not Texsolve; I believe they are nylon and there are lots of them. I’ve been very pleased weaving with them. All lines are Texsolve and I have replaced almost all of the anchor pegs with arrow pegs as I think they’re easier on the fingers.

I have fitted the warp beam with twill tapes for attaching two inch warp sections.

This sale includes one reed; I have others available at additional cost.

Also included: an adjustable 35.5 inch long bench, some pieces which I believe to be counterbalance equipment, a mallet for knocking the components together, the manual for putting the loom together, Swedish Loom Manual by Becky Ashenden and Tyeing Up the Countermarch Loom by Joanne Hall.

FS: Cone Holder/Yarn Feeder

This hand-crafted stand sits on the floor or on a table. Up to 8 cones of yarn can be held with the yarn fed up through 8 thread guides. Brass pins hold the top and bottom so the holder can be disassembled for easy storage. Made of ash and/or birch, it is 20” long by 8” wide by 16” tall.

FS: Reed and Lease Stick Holder

Holds the reed in position for sleying and keeps a hold on the lease sticks as well. They are 12” long by 2.5” wide by 1” (standard 1”x3” board)
It is shipped unassembled as it would be easier to store when not in use. You may want to go ahead and glue it if storage is not an issue. I suggest using a carpenter grade glue.

FS: 8-Shaft Cherry Norwood Loom - Indiana

I need to make room for a countermarch loom so I have made the difficult decision to part with my cherry Norwood. It is an 8 shaft, 12 treadle loom with 40” weaving width. It comes with a 12 dent reed, a custom cherry bench and shuttle trap. I am asking $1750.

FS: Baby Wolf in Northern Colorado

I have an older 4 harness Baby Wolf for sale. According to the site it was made August 1982 – December 1982. It comes with a boat shuttle with 6 bobbins, a set of warping pegs, and an extra set of treadle tie ups. It has the original flat steel heddles and I have added some extra. I am asking $600.

I also have a large Harrisville loom bench for sale that I am asking $100 for.

IF I can find the box I also have a Baby Wolf stroller still in the original box that would be $75. It will not work with the loom above without modifications that Schacht will be happy to describe to you.

5 - Kessenich Oak Reed holder blocks used for threading the reed outside of the beater

4 - lighter weight (wood and maker unknown) Reed holder blocks

4 - pairs (these were from Kessenich looms many years ago) of metal reed holders that fit over the castle to hold your reed (never used them - not exactly sure how they work)

3 - 12 hole wooden things (not sure if they are used like a warping paddle or for sectional warping)

A whole bag of light weigh alum. hollow rods used like the cardboard pirns of today (for shuttles)

I’m tired of organizing and selling stuff - so tonight I made a 6# box that I’m giving away for free (please just cover the priority flat rate and paypal fee).

I have an older Schacht Rigid Heddle loom with a Schact stand. The loom has a single reed, additional reeds are still available from Schacht when I checked last year. Good condition with all working parts and gears. $325 for the set. Pick up or meet is preferred, shipping will be expensive I’d guess.
